Catalog description

This course follows Digital Logic and tops it up by covering sequential circuit design. In-depth discussions are carried out on memory elements such as various types of latches and flip-flops, finite state machine analysis and design, timing analysis and design violations, random access memories, FPGAs, and high-level hardware description language programming VHDL. Programmable logic devices, PLA, PAL and FPGA will also be covered. Advanced topics such as testing of logic circuits conclude this course. The course will also provide hands-on labs, including designing a hardware accelerator in VHDL.
