How Do I Build Classroom Community Where All Students Can Thrive?
New York University · UGRD · Fall 2026
Catalog description
This course focuses on knowing students and on understanding the contexts where students learn. Thus, this course’s I-centered questions are couched in residents’ growing understanding of their obligations to their diverse and unique students, and in their growing understanding of their teaching environments – including the opportunities these afford to collaborate with others. In this course, the residents assess themselves as novice managers within these environments and make plans for further growth. In the process, they learn some basic classroom management skills and identify and activate assets they bring to these management tasks.
