Molecular Epidemiology and Biomarkers in Modern Study Design
New York University · UGRD · Fall 2026
Catalog description
By studying the causes and effects of health and disease conditions in defined populations, epidemiology forms the cornerstone of public health, and shapes policy decisions and evidence-based practice for preventive healthcare. The biologic sciences are essential to understanding disease processes, in conjunction with the social sciences to better understand proximate and distal causes. This course provides a rigorous introduction to the interdisciplinary science of molecular epidemiology and covers how we incorporate biomarkers of exposure, response and susceptibility into epidemiology study design to better address population health research challenges.
