Qualitative researchers ask questions about the social world and relationships within it. Knowledge produced can be liberating and troubling. We engage with Denzin’s call to critically design empirical studies, and to trouble how researchers generate and represent data. We build upon foundational knowledge about qualitative research, prioritizing designs such as school/organizational ethnography, comparative and multiple case analysis in educational settings, with specific focus on equity-centered research. Discussions about reflexivity in community-engaged research.
