Catalog description
This course introduces the core set of statistical tools used by economists to analyze data and understand causal relationships among variables in order to assess economic theories and estimate policy impacts. Students will learn regression analysis that provides a framework for quantifying how a change in one variable affects another variable and for measuring the uncertainty/precision associated with those answers. Students will also learn how to use Stata, a statistical software package, to perform regression analysis. Upon completion of this course, students will be able to conduct their own empirical research using econometric methods.
