New York University · UGRD · Fall 2026
Catalog description
This course is intended to develop students' skills and bicultural fluency for those who aspire to work in culturally diverse settings. With a focus on business culture in China and the U.S., we will discuss the challenges and strategies for interacting with and leading team members in culturally diverse settings. Through a combination of lectures, real-life case discussions, guest lectures, and hands-on practice, students will gain valuable insights into how cross-cultural differences manifest in daily life and the workplace and the challenges they create. We will also examine how cross-border businesses communicate effectively to connect with consumers. This course is conducted in both Chinese and English. It counts as a CAS elective (it does not apply toward the EAS major or minor or fulfill the CAS language requirement). For permission to enroll, students should contact the instructor.
