Catalog description

Prerequisite for EAST-UA 256 : Elementary Korean II ( EAST-UA 255 ), Elementary Korean for Advanced Speakers ( EAST-UA 281 ) or placement exam. Prerequisite for EAST-UA 257 : EAST-UA 256 or placement exam. Offered in the fall and spring. 4 points. The Korean language at the second-year level: phonetics, grammar, syntax, and vocabulary. Emphasizes the development of communicative skills in speaking, reading, and writing. Develops the language's major social and cultural contexts. Requires students to write about and discuss various topics.
