Catalog description
This course is designed to help students understand the research process and how it applies to evidence-based practice. The first part explores the entire research process beginning with the identification of a research question and the selection of a study approach, proceeding through the collection and analysis of data and the preparation of a formal scientific report, and ending with preparation for academic and professional presentations and publishing. Students will apply their knowledge and make their own contribution to improving the health of individuals and communities through a research project. (Prerequisites: Principles of Dental Hygiene IV Lecture and Clinic.) (Fall, Summer Session I)
