Catalog description

Principles of Dental Hygiene III is a continuation of previous Principles of Dental Hygiene II, lecture and clinic. This course presents developmental knowledge for the students to successfully continue to use professional judgment and skills in providing optimal comprehensive dental hygiene patient care. It will focus on treatment of the special needs patients and will incorporate evidence based decision- making skills for case-based learning and test skills. Through lecture, discussions, reading assignments, examinations and research projects, the students continue to develop professional judgment and skills in providing optimal comprehensive dental hygiene patient treatment.(Prerequisites: Periodontics, Principles of Dental Hygiene II Lecture and Clinic, Dental Materials, Writing Workshop I) Co-requisite: Principles of Dental Hygiene III Clinic (Fall)
