Catalog description
This course continues from General Chemistry (I) and laboratory, focusing on topics in chemistry as outlined in “Chemistry: The Molecular Nature of Matter and Change, 10th Edition”, starting with Chapter 11, Theories of Covalent Bonding. Key subjects include Theories of Covalent Bonding, Intermolecular Forces, Properties of Mixtures, Chemical Kinetics, Chemical Equilibrium, Acid-Base Equilibria, Ionic Equilibria in Aqueous Systems, Electrochemistry, and an introduction to Nuclear Reactions. The laboratory component complements the lecture material, providing hands-on experiments related to these topics. Detailed schedules and descriptions of lab activities will be outlined in the course syllabus.
