Catalog description

This course presents the foundation of communications skills and strategies specifically through media platforms that drive organizational success. Students will learn how to create impactful strategic communications plans and craft messaging techniques that enhance organizational image, credibility, social responsibility, and prime objectives – reaching targeted audiences through traditional, digital, and social media tools. Key topics include leveraging internal and external organizational communications, managing crisis communications, developing intercultural communication skills, and shaping innovation initiatives. Students will gain practical experience in integrating diverse strategic communications elements, from planning to development and implementation, and learn to navigate the complexities of communications management. The course emphasizes the development of both written and oral communication skills to become a change agent in the organization and world at large. Students will develop their persuasive writing style, create clear and impactful messages, and hone influential oral presentation skills. By the end of the course, students will be equipped to manage strategic messaging, foster effective business relationships, and deliver high-powered communications across a spectrum of cultures, stakeholders, and global markets.
