Catalog description

FBI statistics demonstrate an alarming rise in real estate cyber incidents resulting in significant harm to the stakeholders, including real estate professionals. Real estate companies and transactions in particular have become an increasingly significant target of cyber fraudsters and malicious actors. These transactions include the sharing of highly sensitive information and the transmission of enormous amounts of transactional funds, luring cyber criminals deeper into the real estate industry. To address this increasing threat, cybersecurity related laws and regulations are quickly evolving for real estate professionals (brokers, attorneys, title companies, etc). This course will introduce the increasing legal and regulatory requirements, standards of care, and recommended best practices that real estate professionals will adhere to. AI is drastically changing the world with positive and negative effects. This course will explore the misuse of AI to initiate cyber threats; the ethical guidelines to best protect real estate companies from previous incidents; ensure clients are insulated from these threats in the future. Hackers continuously evolve, therefore our mitigation efforts must also evolve.
