Catalog description
This course introduces students to principles of the mechanical aspects of human movement. Students will explore how forces are applied to and generated by the body during various activities, including walking, running, and athletic performance. Topics covered will include the concepts of kinematics (motion), kinetics (forces), and the mechanical properties of tissues, as well as the application of these principles to improve performance and prevent injury. This course is aimed at students interested in understanding how biomechanics can be applied to fields such as dance, sports science, physical therapy, and athletic training.
