Catalog description

The course will cover basic topics from linear algebra, multivariate calculus, optimization, and probability that are central to modern Artificial Intelligence (AI) and machine learning. The coverage will not be as mathematically deep as that given in full courses on linear algebra, multivariate calculus, and probability. The course will also apply these concepts to develop some basic machine learning algorithms. Homework assignments will involve Python programming and mathematical problem solving.
