Catalog description

First-Year Cohort: Authoring your NYU Story is designed to help CAS students connect to their story and cultivate a sense of purpose and direction by weaving together an understanding of how they got here, how they can build on where they are, and how they can be the author of their lives moving forward. Combining self-reflection, group discussion, and exploration of professional development and interpersonal theory, the course helps students make sense of the lived experiences that have brought them to this point, shape how they can intentionally use their time at CAS and NYU, and identify the contributions they will make to our community and our world. The meetings will encourage knowledge sharing, establish a network, and explore the four themes of the College Cohort Program: Academic Success, Personal & Career Development, Community Engagement, and Leadership Experience.
