This course offers an initial exploration of modern China, integrating advanced grammar and vocabulary into discussions of cultural and societal issues. Aligned with ACTFL guidelines, the course aims to comprehensively enhance students’ proficiency in listening, speaking, reading, and writing, with particular emphasis on communicative competence in real-life contexts. Students will also explore Chinese society, culture, and history through modern Chinese language. The course equips them with the skills necessary to deliver oral presentations and produce formal or semi-formal writing that is well-organized, culturally appropriate, and lexically rich. Deaprtment consent required. Co-requisite: CHIN-SHU 321A Chinese Immersion Program: Advanced Chinese I for Heritage Learners Fulfillment: Core Curriculum Language; GCS Major Requirement Language Courses For Advanced GCS Track.
