Making Neuroscience: Understanding Ourselves & Our Brains

This seminar introduces students to the ever-evolving and exciting field of neuroscience and psychology with a focus on how these disciplines shape our understanding of the brain, behavior, and mental health. Using a flipped-classroom format, students learn about a range of trending topics, including psychedelic assisted therapy, the gut-brain connection, consciousness, learning and memory, and more. Students lead discussions and explore how recent discoveries impact the clinical, ethical, and cultural aspects of neuroscience. Given the topical nature of this course, some themes may vary by semester as students are allowed to select preferred topics.
