How can the performing arts empower us to become better artists on the stage of life? In this course, students will engage with diverse texts related to performance practice and artistic traditions across music, theatre, and dance, examining how they reflect and challenge cultural and social contexts, while transforming the way they engage with others and fostering personal reflection, confidence, and lifelong learning. Alongside intellectual inquiry, students attend live performances and practical workshops, which will contribute to creating original written responses and collaborating in artistic projects. This process strengthens analytical thinking as well as the awareness of society’s complexities and cultural diversity. As an outcome, students will cultivate deeper self-reflection, effective communication, resilience in overcoming obstacles, and adaptability to changing circumstances. By actively engaging in the performing arts - which serve as a mirror for the complexities, challenges, and relationships found in real life - students gain abilities that enrich personal development and prepare them to thrive far beyond the classroom.
