Catalog description

This course is an introduction to the key concepts and principles of business strategy formulation, implementation, and analysis. It will focus on the decisions and actions taken by managers, and how these factors impact the performance and survival of firms. Taking a general perspective, we will examine the knowledge, tools, and skills that managers need to effectively make decisions that align their objectives with organization mission and vision, precisely define firm boundaries, and improve operations and processes. The course will also emphasize devising competitive business strategies that position firms to maximize profit (competitive advantage) by managing key factors such as stakeholder relationship, firm resources and capabilities, and environmental forces.
