Innovation and Creativity

Catalog description

This course introduces students to the principles and practices of innovation and creativity in contemporary environments. Students will develop creativity as a practical skill and apply it to solving real-world problems across industries, communities, and entrepreneurial contexts. Through design thinking, collaborative group work, and applied exercises, students will learn how to identify opportunities, generate ideas, evaluate solutions, and communicate innovations effectively. A central feature of the course is a semester-long, team-based innovation project in which students work collaboratively to identify a real-world problem and develop an innovative solution through a structured, milestone-driven process. Emphasis is placed on teamwork, experimentation, iterative learning, and real-world application.
