Catalog description

This course is an advanced introduction to a series of well-established tools for the analysis of data in the social sciences. In particular, it focuses on techniques that allow researchers [1] to uncover patterns and [2] to establish causality, respectively. The instructor adopts a hands-on methodological approach: Subtle interpretative and epistemological issues of great relevance will be uncovered and addressed while harnessing data to answer actual research questions. The course is propaedeutic to the capstone course BPE Senior Seminar: The tools learned here will prove invaluable when writing your BPE Senior Paper.
