Global Change Biology

Catalog description

This course introduces students to the emerging and exponentially growing field of global change biology. This interdisciplinary field incorporates ecological and evolutionary theory, genomics, anthropology, and social sciences to study how humans have impacted natural systems and the consequences for life on Earth. A major component of the course will be developing scientific research skills, which students will practice through writing micro-research proposals. Students will also learn from scientists working on different aspects of ecology and evolution discussed in the course through local field trips.
