Catalog description

This undergraduate course explores recent advancements in biological treatments, including RNA-based technologies, antibodies, and peptides. Each week two primary research articles will be studied in detail, including the concepts and the techniques involving the molecular and cellular biology approaches that were used. Students will prepare and present the research articles. The students will learn how to read a primary research paper, understand and present research design and experimental methods. Evaluation methods include presentations, weekly quizzes, tests and a final paper. This course requires reading and understanding two primary research articles a week.
