Catalog description

This course explores key concepts and recent advances in microbiology with a primary focus on bacteria and fungi. The course is organized into two modules: one on the microbial cell and one on microbial interactions. Topics include microbial cell structure, growth, and evolution as well as host-pathogen interactions. The course is a hybrid lecture and discussion course with a recitation. Students will be introduced to and discuss primary scientific literature related to the lecture material.
