BAS06-DN 3510
Clinical Pathologic Correlations
New York University · UGRD · Fall 2026
Catalog description
This course consists of clinico-pathologic case (CPC) presentations designed to improve the students’ skills in the diagnosis (including differential diagnosis) and management of the major clinical and histopathologic entities that a general dentist may encounter in the ordinary course of practice. This course builds on the knowledge base delivered during the D1 General Pathology ( BAS06-DN 1608 ), D2 OMPR ( DGS06-DN 2510 ) and Body and Disease ( BAS06-DN 2510 and BAS06-DN 2610 ) courses. Students are expected to be fluent with this working knowledge from these previous courses and are now expected to integrate that knowledge into a clinical setting. This course emphasizes data collection (i.e. the identification and description of key history, physical examination findings, imaging, or laboratory studies), the steps in establishing a definitive diagnosis, evidence-based management strategies (as applicable), and the factors predicting prognosis. This course is open only to students in the Doctor of Dental Surgery program.
