Introduces students to therapeutic interventions with couples and families through a culturally responsive and inclusive lens. Emphasis on traditional and contemporary models such as family systems, attachment theory, trauma-informed care, and relational ecosystem frameworks alongside indigenous and multicultural perspectives. Practical concepts in assessment; session dynamics; and therapeutic intervention; impact of culture, power, and systemic oppression on relationships; couple dynamics; intimacy; conflict; supervision; and therapist’s reflective use of self.
