Human Sexuality for Mental Health Counselors
New York University · UGRD · Fall 2026
1 section
Catalog description
Human sexuality is an integral part of physical, mental, and interpersonal health. Course covers topics pertinent to mental health counselors with exercises focused on clinical applications. We examine the foundations of sexology, sexual biology, societal connections to sex, and sexual behavior to gain a better understanding of the holistic wellness of communities and individuals. Culturally competent, intersectional, and destigmatizing approaches ensure students leave with the tools to advocate for marginalized communities, human rights, and patient well-being.
