Catalog description

Welcome to your Audit Analytics course! This course will examine the influence of technology and analytics on the external audit function. We will examine a variety of emerging trends with a focus on how (and if) technology can improve the efficiency and effectiveness of the audit process. The curriculum incorporates independent modules that provide students the opportunity to use technology to assess and analyze accounting information. Successful completion of an “Introduction to Auditing” course equivalent is a prerequisite. The learning objectives of the course are: • Identify how the external audit function can utilize technology to assess key areas of risk related to public company transactions. • Reflect and analyze current issues impact accounting, financial reporting and auditing. • Evaluate the effectiveness of technology in audit and accounting scenarios.
