Principles of Astronomy is an elective science course for elementary education majors seeking a science certification and those students wishing to learn more about the universe and how it works. Several important issues will be discussed including: the com position of the Solar System, Stellar Evolution, the Milky Way galaxy and its components, the history of astronomy, the nature of light, and the different kinds of telescopes used to observe the universe.
