Catalog description

Introduces basic principles of antigen and antibody reactions. Compares and contrast the different immunological procedures and describes the mechanisms that protect the body from disease and infection. Concepts of cell -mediated immunity, humoral immunity, autoimmune diseases, genetics and immunodeficiency disorders will be covered. Emphasizes techniques such as dilutions to measure analytes qualitatively and quantitatively. Students will also learn the purpose, principles and interpretation of basic molecular technology that are used for diagnostic purposes.
