Catalog description

This course introduces the profession of Med ical Assisting, including the medical record, OSHA Standards, standards precautions, medical asepsis, sterilization, and disinfection. Students will develop skills necessary to assist the physician in the examination and treatment of patients, including recording the medical history, vital signs, anatomical positions for procedures and examinations, documentation of care, as we ll as assist ing in minor office procedures and patient e du cation/preparation for sp ecific procedures, diagnostic tests and exams.
