Catalog description

Prerequisite or Corequisite: Graduate standing or Consent of instructor. Offered: spring semesters. This project-focused course explores games and gaming cultures as artifacts of inquiry and study. It provides students with an overview of many of the methodological options in the scholarly field of game studies and the opportunity to gain practical experience with the academic research process. The goal of this course is for students to develop/execute innovative research projects by the end of the semester and present them at NMT’s yearly Student Research Symposium.Shares lectures with SOSC 4007 and TCOM 4007, but has additional expectations for graduate credit.
