Catalog description

OFFERED: FALL/SPRING. This project-based course provides students with an introduction to the world of big data scholarship within the context of humanities and communication research. It focuses on both the debates and controversies related to big data collection and the practices/techniques of big data analysis. Possible topics of focus may include (but are not limited to) computational textual analysis/linguistics, digital humanities, machine learning, and data visualization. Shares lectures with TCOM 4006, but has additional expectations for graduate credit.
