Catalog description

Similar to the way medical imaging techniques like MRIs and x-rays look into the human body, geophysical methods like radar and ultrasound can look underneath the surface of the ground or inside rocks. This class provides an overview of fundamental wave propagation behaviors for mechanical and electromagnetic waves and how those behaviors can be used to investigate and describe the investigated area. Applications of these techniques, from geology to archaeology, will also be explored to understand the capabilities and limitations of the methods.
