Prerequisites: EE 211 or ES 3032; EE271 or ES 111 or equivalent programming course; or permission of instructorIntroduction to energy needs and motivations for renewable energy, which include pollution and climate change caused by fossil fuel-based energy resources. Fundamentals of alternative and renewable energy systems including: Tidal, geothermal, solar, wind, photovoltaic systems. Basic energy storage, conversion considerations, efficiencies and applications will be introduced. This course will involve modeling of renewable energy topics using MATLAB.
