Prerequisite: ENGL 1120 or consent of Instructor and Advisor. Exploration of ethical issues embedded in medicine and related activities; focuses on broad areas including: the physician/patient relationship, the media’s influence on medicine, the role of the pharmaceutical industry, gene therapy, cloning and stem cell research, organ transplantation, human and animal research, reproductive technologies, and the global allocation of resources.
