Catalog description

Prerequisites: MUSC 1210, or successful audition. This course will explore Western music language in depth, from music notation throughout Western music history; scales in all its modes, including the Gregorian Mode, Tetrachord, Chord Function, Augmented 6 Chords, Neapolitan, the Seventh Chord formations, Cadenza; and introduction to 5 Species Counterpoint, Bach Chorale Harmonization. Practical Solfeggio metrical, and Lied Form. Final project will be presented in Recital Format.
