Catalog description

Survey of technologically important Materials including ceramics, glasses, semiconductors, polymers and composites. The objective is to understand the chemical composition, structure, processing and property relationships in material systems. The student will obtain a basic understanding of the principles of electronic transport, dielectric, thermal, optical and mechanical properties of engineered solids. Undergraduate students majoring in Materials Engineering must take MTLS 2235L concurrently.
