Catalog description

Field exploration and presentation of geologic data pertaining to underground excavations in rock. Rock mass classification systems. Empirical design and support selections, structural analysis and block stability. Application of stereonets and stereographic projection. Stress and rock mass strength, elastic and elasto-plasic analysis. Applications of numerical modeling. Review of machine excavation methods. Shares lecture with MINE 5037, with additional expectations for graduate credit.
