Catalog description

Introductory course in the application of explosives to rock fragmentation; theory of detonation and mechanisms of rock failure, dynamics, and propagation. The effects of rock properties on breakage. Blasting systems and production blasting techniques used in both surface and underground designs; environmental considerations and regulations. Principles of blast-hole drilling and drill performance. Drilling and blasting economics.
