The use of electrical and electronic instruments and equipment to measure, monitor and/or record physical phenomena. Measurements of force, mass dimension, strain; displacement, velocity, and acceleration; tensile, impact and comprehensive strength; temperature and thermal properties; time and frequency; thrust and torque; pressure vacuum and flow; electrical quantities; photo-optics and radiation.
