Catalog description

An introduction to the field of mathematical biology: linear and nonlinear mathematical models, time series, continuous and discrete models. The concepts of positive and negative feedback. Equilibria and the concept of stability. Bifurcation and chaos. Limit cycle attractors. Time delays as a cause of oscillation. Applications in biology and ecology. Shares lectures with MATH 4021, with additional work for the graduate level.Prerequisites: Graduate standing or permission of instructor.
