An introduction to the field of mathematical biology: linear and nonlinear mathematical models, time series, continuous and discrete models. The concepts of positive and negative feedback. Equilibria and the concept of stability. Bifurcation and chaos. Limit cycle attractors. Time delays as a cause of oscillation. Applications of derivatives, integrals, differential equations, and discrete dynamical systems. Applications in biology and ecology. Shares lectures with MATH 5021, with additional work for the graduate level.
