Catalog description

Rock fracture and elasticity, focused on understanding elastic, brittle and fracture deformation of rocks in a range of geologic settings, ranging from the deep brittle crust to the laboratory to aquifers to hydrocarbon reservoirs. Topics to be covered include stress and strain, elasticity, brittle rock failure, extensional and shear fracture, poroelasticity, hydraulic fracture, fluid transport in faulted and unfaulted rocks.
