Catalog description

An in-depth and interdisciplinary study of astrobiology, including between living and non-living systems at multiple scales: stellar, planetary, meso, and microscopic. Addresses fundamental questions regarding the origin of life, and the possible extent and distribution of life in the universe. Combines principals of astrophysics and astronomy, geosciences and planetary science, chemistry and bioscience. Innovative interactive exercises and projects working in interdisciplinary groups and individually. Shares lecture with GEOL/BIOL 4049 (astrobiology), with additional expectations for graduate credit. Same as GEOC 5049.
