Offered on demand.This course will explore the basis for interactions between the microorganisms and the geosphere. Topics include redox geochemistry, microbial metabolism and the diversity of microbial lifestyles, microbe mineral interactions, contaminant degradation and bioremediation, microbial paleobiology, and the co-evolution of life and the Earth. The course will include a mandatory weekend field trip. Shares lectures with GEOB 5015, with additional expectations for graduate credit.
