Catalog description

This course covers the study of fluid-rock interaction in HYDRrothermal systems from a mineralogical perspective. Includes theoretical and practical aspects of ore deposits, such as the mechanisms of metal complexation, transport and mineralization processes in HYDRrothermal fluids and how they are connected to mineral alteration textures, mineral/rock geochemistry, and mineral paragenesis. This course also provides an overview of selected hydrothermal ore deposits, for example, Greisen, epithermal and porphyry systems, REE and critical mineral deposits, pegmatites, iron-oxide-apatite and Mississippi Valley Type deposits.
