Catalog description

Prerequisites: ENGL 1110 and 1120 or the equivalent passed with a grade C or better and at least junior standing. This course emphasizes clear, accurate, and precise communication and scientific and technical information to a variety of audiences, for a variety of purposes. Students will be taught how to effectively analyze the components of writing situations and appropriately conduct research, write content in a professional, yet accessible style, incorporate visuals, organize and format documents. The course culminates with a substantial technical research report and oral presentation. In addition, students work on writing documents including memos, proposals, short reports, and instructions.
