Catalog description

Principles of digital signal processing. Topics include: Infinite and finite impulse response filters, discrete and fast Fourier transforms, multi-rate processing, spectral estimation, quantization effects, system design, and implementation of real-time DSP algorithms on state-of-the-art hardware. Principles discussed in class will be demonstrated with real applications in labs that include design and implementation of infinite and finite impulse response filters, and applications such as communication systems, sound processing, image processing, and related topics.
