Catalog description

This course aims to provide the student with the fundamentals of photography using their digital camera. After completing this course, the student will — at the very minimum — know how to use their digital cameras in Auto mode to take photographs. Ideally, by the end of the semester, the student will use their camera in Manual mode and decide about setting aperture (f-stop), shutter speed, ISO, and white balance to affect exposure. Note that this class covers physical, independent cameras and not cell phone cameras; use of cell phone cameras is prohibited for turning in assignments. The mode of instruction for this class is face to face plus web videos & downloads. Content will be available online from the class website and Google Drive as downloadable PDF and notes and a video of each presentation. Content will be online on the Saturday following class by midnight.
